[ Kinjou had taken longer to get home than Makishima had thought. He couldn't blame him. He knew he'd gone out for a ride and normally he would have gone too except he'd had something else he'd wanted to do.

He didn't want to wait too much longer for his boyfriend to get back, so he'd gone to take a long shower and bath in the hopes that he would be back in time to join him, but when that hadn't happened either he let out a sigh and was just deciding to get out of the tub when he heard Kinjou's arrival. ]

I'm in the bathroom, sho!

[ He called back to him, leaning back into the tub and waiting for Kinjou to show up in the doorway. ]

[He manages to hear a faint hint of the response coming from further into the apartment, definitely not the kitchen, and so Kinjou tries following it. It's when he realizes Makishima isn't in the bedroom that he remembers the words he'd told him before he'd hung up. His heart skips a beat.

His pace might have ended up quicker as he makes his way to the bathroom and then opens the door, peeking into the small space he leaves in the doorway. Even with the fact that they're dating, Kinjou can't help but want to give Makishima some privacy.

It looks like he's finished. ...mental sigh of disappointment. He gives a slight apologetic smile.]

I took longer than expected.

Don't worry about it.

[ He knows Kinjou was out for a ride and depending on how far out he was it might have taken him quite some time to get back home. ]

Did you have a good ride?

[ He gestures for Kinjou to come inside. ]

[Kinjou's smile widens as he nods his head and enters, removing his glasses just so they don't fog up because of the warmth in the bathroom. He tucks them into the collar of his shirt as he walks closer to Makishima.]

I did, yes. I rode through the South-East Sector today. I'd heard that there are research labs open to the public and so I had intended to visit them, but the traffic took up more of my time than I expected. I had to leave my bicycle at the gate. The most I could view was the interior of the research facility and learn of the interior map of the building. I'll have to save the rest for another trip. I'd really like to be able to see the research lab districts, they have one dedicated to soft sciences and I would like to see how different it is from Earth's sciences.

[You can clearly tell he's still in Nerd Mode because it's the only way Kinjou would ever talk to anyone so excitedly about science.]

[ A smile plays on Makishima's face as he listens to Kinjou geeking out. It's cute though he really has no idea what the appeal is. He supposes it's the same way he felt when the fashion show was going on. Makishima had been on cloud 9 and was definitely geeking out at all the fashion in Amoi. It made him want to try and start his fashion designing career here. After all, it had been his design that had helped take Toudou to 3rd place. ]

Ah, it sounds like a good trip.

[A good trip in Kinjou's opinion, however his train of thought is pulled away from science as he catches sight of a hint of purple in Makishima's hair, and for a moment he actually starts seeking out the red until he remembers it's no longer there. The conversation he'd had with Toudou soon after Makishima's (accidentally) public video plays through his mind, and he reaches out carefully, a finger running over the detail of a long purple streak, his gaze silent and watchful.]

It appears different up-close, somehow.

[It still feels odd. The change was so sudden, he had no warning at all. Kinjou's still telling himself not to put that much thought into it. There's no reason to worry, it's just hair.

Or was Toudou right? Was there something here that he was missing? Was there something Makishima wasn't telling him about.]

Do you like it?

[ Though Makishima asked the question in the same way he'd asked Kinjou if he liked the large digital tattoo he'd purchased. It was too late to change the color, it wasn't a skin but dye that had been very expensive. At least now he had the option of going to a salon in Tanagura to get it touched up rather than going through the black market.

Toudou had been right. He might have been the only one to really realize that something wasn't all right up in Makishima's head, but Makishima wasn't saying anything about it.]

["I like it." It's such an easy thing for him to say. But it just won't come out.

For some strange reason, he feels as if he's lost something. But he can't tell Makishima that. It's only hair, it's just a single color that could be changed at any moment. It isn't even a permanent color. Kinjou's known for a long time that Makishima dyes his hair. It's something that has to be tended to periodically, can fade if ignored, and Makishima could even stop at any time. But he never has. Its always been the way it was, green and red. It was like his signature along with every other part of him, everything that made him Makishima.

So why change it now, he wonders. Kinjou stays silent as he continues running his finger along the purple streak. It's so different... he doesn't really know how to answer.

And so instead of saying anything, Kinjou just moves his hand away and takes Makishima's chin in his grasp, leans in and kisses him.]

[ It's not really an answer, but unlike Toudou, Makishima can't tell what Kinjou is thinking just with that kiss. They'd grown much closer in their time here on Amoi, but they were not close enough that they could do what he and Toudou did.

As far as Makishima knew, nothing was wrong with this.

He hummed softly into the kiss, returning it and reaching up a damp hand to touch the side of Kinjou's face. ]

[He really doesn't understand Makishima in the way Toudou does, and maybe he wishes he could be more like him at this point, put his foot down over something that is clearly out of the ordinary and demand a clear answer. But the fact of the matter is that Kinjou and Toudou are two different people. Makishima treats them different, just as they both treat him differently. Kinjou can't be as straight-forward as Toudou can be. But he can be patient, he can be understanding, he can let Makishima do as he wants and accept it as his decision. Even if he's still worried, even if he's still thinking about the conversation they just had. Things Makishima has forgotten, things he knew had happened, things he's so sure are true and yet Makishima has no recollection of them.

He doesn't want to think about it, not now. And so Kinjou simply lets himself be enveloped in this kiss, lets Makishima eliminate his worries and focus on just him instead. His hair is still damn, his hand is a bit cool, he must have just barely finished bathing. Kinjou sets a hand on Makishima's waist and takes a deep inhale through his nose as he pulls away for breath. He smells so clean and fresh, yet still so entirely like Makishima.]

[ Makishima hums softly into the kiss. It's sweet and gentle, not their typical kisses that lead them to tumbling into bed and Maki appreciates that. It makes him feel as if Kinjou loves him for far more than sex and that's important to Makishima. Their relationship had started off a bit backwards, cart before the horse, but here they were, dating, and living together no less. It was more than Makishima could have ever asked for and he hoped it never changed. ]

[Kinjou takes his time with him, slow and gentle, like the only thing he wants to do is kiss him this way forever. Ever since they'd solidified their relationship- an actual relationship, Kinjou's had a difficult time keeping his hands off of Makishima in private. However this time it's different, and not just because Makishima just came out of the shower. Which brings him to a thought...

He pulls away for a moment, kisses along the corner of his mouth, knuckles brushing alone his jawline.]

Would you let me help you dry off?

[ Makishima had a towel wrapped around his entire body, his hair hanging loose still and dripping just a little onto the bathroom floor. He looks surprised at Kinjou's offer. He's never let anyone dry his hair before, not since he was a child, but he thought that if it was Kinjou he would enjoy it. ]

Ah, sure, sho.

[ He smiled softly as he unwrapped his towel from his body and handed it to Kinjou. Being naked in front of him wasn't embarrassing. He was used to being in bathhouses with Kinjou but the intimacy of their relationship made it more embarrassing. Kinjou knew all the intimate details of his body now, every divet, every mole front and back, and Makishima loved him for it. ]

[During the entirety of their relationship and sleeping together, Kinjou's greatly enjoyed being able to touch Makishima's hair as much as possible, knowing that he's never been the sort to let anyone put their hands on it. Its almost felt like a privilege. But if there's anything he hasn't been able to do in the time they've been together, it's something as domestic as this. It really makes him feel like they're a proper couple.

The nudity isn't a problem at all and doesn't make him falter for a second as he takes the towel and dabs away some wetness on Makishima's shoulders before pulling it over his head and carefully beginning to dry his hair. His movements are slow though, very cautious, and he can't help but smile in amusement because he feels so very unsure about something as simple as drying someone's hair.]

I can't imagine that this is a quick process for you.

[ Kinjou had cause to worry. Makishima was very particular about who touched his hair and how. If he even dared to pull it Kinjou was likely to lose that privilege for a week if not more. ]

Ah, no it takes awhile sho.

[ His hair was soft, but it was constantly being colored and recolored which didn't really help the overall health of his hair. It was only by the several different jars of conditioners and creams that he kept it feeling and looking as nice as it did. He had Toudou to thank for that. ]
